The 2 captions that come to my mind are
"In hindsight" or "Awaiting in anticipation"
Two different views I have suggested is primary because the look in the picture could be one of retrospection or future anticipation. The latter seems to convince me more...

Well, the first thoughts that crossed my mind was a Parsi businessman in 1920s thinking on the state of the nation and looking for a brigther future.....very much unlike our pam pam....:P
